DESCRIPTION


EPAM Systems provides 24/7 support services for users of a major Cloud platform. The Support team is distributed across multiple locations. We are hiring Cloud professionals to extend our multi language Cloud Support team, based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan. As a Cloud Support Engineer / Developer Tools Specialist , you will provide support for Cloud technologies such as Cloud Security, DevOps, DevTools, Service Usage API and others.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer technical support issue, by providing a resolution or recommendations to IAAS product and services related
  • Provide technical assistance and support as part of a global 24x7 support organization
  • Work closely with engineers and product managers to improve the service and make our customers successful
  • Provide technical support to customers using Cloud Platform products, solutions, and APIs
  • Follow standards for communications with business involving operational issues

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Linux/UNIX and Windows Server
  • Familiarity with shell scripting
  • Familiarity with multi-tasking and multi-processing
  • Strong understanding of administration (user accounts, permission models, access control)
  • Experience troubleshooting Linux performance (CPU, memory, I/O)
  • Familiarity with application of cryptographic tools and concepts (public/private key auth, ssh, etc.)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with common Linux troubleshooting tools (vmstat, iostat, lsof, strace, etc.)
  • Familiarity with cloud computing
  • Ability to research using internal knowledge bases and public-facing documentation (Google Developers, StackOverflow, etc.)
  • A strong sense of business ownership and customer focus
  • Business English communication (B2)
  • Native or fully fluent Japanese communication (including reading/writing)

Nice to have

  • Experience with VMs (VMware, Amazon EC2, etc.)
  • Familiarity with BigQuery, Cloud Storage and CloudSQL
  • Coding ability in one or more languages (Java, Python, C++, etc.)
  • Familiarity with networking (NAT, firewalls, basic routing, load balancing, etc.)
  • Familiarity with software commonly used on VMs (MongoDB, Hadoop, etc.)
  • Experience in deploying and managing distributed systems and clusters
  • Familiarity with web and mail protocols (HTTP, TLS, SMTP, etc.)
  • Familiarity with modern API technologies
