If the answer to these are ‘Yes!’, then EPAM has a very rare opportunity for you to join us as a Senior Director of Mobile Competency and be part of our rapidly growing Mobile and Digital Engagement Practice (DEP) in North America.
The DEP Practice comprises around 7,500 EPAMers globally and we are working with a wide range of industry clients so you must be adaptable to engage and work with senior leaders at the highest levels. This is a great opportunity to play a highly visible and principal role driving Architecture and Technology Consulting projects whilst working closely with our DEP leadership teams globally. The position therefore requires a strong background in technical consulting, architecture and Mobile Apps development.

What You’ll Do

  • Within the remit as Senior Director of Mobile Competency for North America, you will wear multiple hats such as Director of Technology Consulting and Mobile Architecture working with the delivery teams in large-scale complex programs
  • Lead and develop our North America Mobile Practice
  • Work with EPAM’s technical teams, sales/pre-sales teams, account managers, heads of business units and EPAM competency centers, providing technical guidance and solution designs
  • Lead technology consulting, architecture engagements and major transformation through execution phases and, where applicable, drive internal, client and third-party vendor mixed teams
  • Support pre-sales activities by assessing Mobile opportunities, responding to RFPs, creating proposals and presentations, establishing relationships with clients and prospective clients, and helping to close / sign new deals
  • Serve as a mobile evangelist providing thought leadership, participating in conferences, authoring white papers, etc
  • Advise business and technology delivery leadership on how to translate the client’s mobile business requirements into mobile technology solutions
  • Develop and present project proposals, technical and project management guidelines for development of complex applications in multiple business domains
  • Suggest solution implementation approaches, create estimates, timeline and cost analyses that will lead to successful implementation and program delivery
  • Kick off new projects, drive initial discovery phases working with EPAM project management and clients driving prototypes and proofs of concept
  • Help clients to get more out of their existing channels identifying the best-of-breed technologies and services based on client needs, constraints and strategies
  • Work with the assigned partner manager to identify, prepare and deliver product messaging to demonstrate EPAM value proposition as a trusted partner
  • Stay abreast of current and emerging trends, unique opportunities and challenges of the markets and geographies in which the clients operate, and how it affects clients’ businesses and initiatives
  • Engage clients with varying degrees of maturity at the CxO level to lead innovation and technical strategy
  • Communicating with and managing business stakeholders to understand context and set strategic direction
  • Evaluating architecture options and making recommendations in the light of technical, delivery and commercial factors
  • Translating business and technical requirements into coherent, consistent and complete architecture designs
  • Chair and lead meetings, such as workshops, reviews and governance bodies
  • Development of proposals for implementation and design of Mobile Architecture
  • End-to-end architecture design including frontend, web services, middle tier, and backend
  • Own and lead initiatives to define, design, and implement mobile solutions which includes reference architectures, estimates, and costing
  • Perform analysis best practices and emerging concepts in mobile application, mobile devices, operating systems, and mobile middleware platforms

Requirements

  • Industry visionary and avid technologist at heart
  • Proven thought leader in the Mobile industry with published work in the form of blogs, podcasts, and conference speeches
  • High achiever with a passion for success and a history of driving large-scale Mobile projects and high performing teams
  • History of building and enhance long-lasting client relationships
  • Strong industry experience as a Mobile Solution Architect or Technology Consultant
  • Strong background of developing Mobile Apps (coding expertise is not essential but preferred)
  • Strong mobile background experience - hybrid and native
  • Domain knowledge in some of the following - Android, iOS, Swift, React Native, Flutter, Xamarin, Cordova and Capacitor based technologies
  • Experience with major Cloud Vendors (in the context of mobile apps integration, for example AWS Amplify, GCP Firebase, Azure Mobile Services and MS AppCenter) and Mobile-specific services (e.g. Push Notifications, Analytics)
  • Ideally experience with pre-sales activities with the ability to engage and work with new clients as our business continues to grow
  • Good understanding of Agile software development life-cycle, approaches and methods
  • Conversant in enterprise product, solution and technology strategies with the ability to convert current knowledge and skills to Mobile ecosystem
  • Confident in expressing points-of-view, making recommendations and presenting analysis and recommendations up to board level where appropriate
  • Able to articulate the pros and cons of technology choices and solution design decisions and to construct and present rational options to clients and prospective clients on the options they have
  • Delivering technology strategy, roadmaps and delivery blueprints for the technology design
  • Solutions selling skills and demonstrated success of communicating complex technical issues to both business and technical audiences
  • Building large transactional systems with a deep understanding of the technical and operational challenges
  • Able to work with and build strong relationships with EPAM's development teams
