Responsibilities

  • As a lead developer:
    • You will be responsible for the implementation of different types of functionalities described in design documents
    • Manage sections of ongoing projects, help to manage individual teams, closely adhere to deadlines
    • Coordinate, plan and track tasks and activities
    • Help identify, escalate, resolve any technical issues and problems that might occur
    • Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications and customer requirements
    • The lead developer ensures that the Scrum team is capable of consuming stakeholder demand and delivers a versioned platform
    • The role demands skills in Agile team organization and delivery, database, and coding skills plus the ability to maintain an ongoing discussion with the stakeholders and partners
  • As a Resource Manager you will be part of the Engineering Leadership team in EPAM Mexico and support the Java practice development:
    • Being able to help employees in their professional growth and career development as well participate in their engagement journey guaranteeing employee’s professional motivation
    • You will organize information exchange between employees and units and the entire company
    • Monitor the subordinates' work on the projects through communication with Project Managers (from Team Leaders to Account Managers)
    • Active mentoring for people in bench, to improve or level up the skills and topics required for new opportunities
    • Meet organization KPI’s
    • Get involved in the employee’s promotion

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on software development experience
  • 4+ years people management experience (15+ subordinates)
  • Strong Java SE/Java EE skills
  • Solid background in object-oriented programming and design
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Good knowledge and understanding of algorithms and design patterns
  • Wide knowledge of Spring, JMS, JPA, Maven, Unit testing and continuous build tools (Jenkins/Hudson), Design Patterns, UML, SQL, HTTP, XML, JUnit
  • Broad understanding of various coding methodologies, testing practices, and tools and know when to apply each method to achieve the desired outcomes
  • Must be able to provide support for their team
  • Fluent English is a must
  • Excellent communication and program solving skills
  • Strong people management and organizational development skill
  • People oriented
  • Manage groups up to 15-30 engineers
  • Proven experience implementing career plans and development
